Adolescent/Adult dogs
It's never to late to start a dogs training!
You can definitely teach an old dog new tricks and so much more! With our method of training we can help to reshape the brain to achieve the more desirable outcomes.
The games we learn will shape good choices and we train for the situation, not in the situation, the skills you and your dog will develop will give you a tool kit for life. We develop your dogs focus (on you), confidence, calmness, self-control and the ability to disengage from difficult situations. We encourage behaviors that are desirable and make a dog a pleasure to have around.
We would advise initially to book a 121 session to discuss your struggles, we can then advise if you would benefit more from further 121’s or put you into an adult dog class, these classes have a maximum of 8 and will be a mix of ages, breeds and ability.
Foundation adolescent/adult dog classes
These classes are aimed at adolescent/adult or rescue dogs that are older than 7 months, they are not aimed at dogs that struggle with dog on dog aggression.
A lot of dog's struggles come from a lack of confidence, that in turn gets labelled as "behavior problems". In our classes the dogs are spaced out so that they can feel comfortable, we work on games to build confidence in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We teach different concepts such as "focus", getting and keeping a dogs focus on you while in the real world can be difficult. We can teach you how to do this while in a class and with real distractions such as other dogs or with traffic. Being able to remain focused and calm, and being able to disengage themselves from difficult situations is the ultimate in having a happy well balanced dog who enjoys life; all of this can be achieved through positive reward based games.
Our classes are 6 weeks long with the option to progress further with your group or with like-minded people from another group who want to continue to train, it is a lovely friendly atmosphere giving owners and dogs the chance to meet up weekly, train and have fun! 6 weeks maximum of 8 dogs to a class, age & ability will vary in these classes. The first session is 45 minutes long without your dog, the following 5 sessions are 1 hour long with your dog. There will be two trainers within this class giving you enough time and attention to help your struggles.
