What do we politely expect from anyone attending K9 Dog Training?
- It is your responsibility to keep yourself and your dog safe
- ALL dogs will remain on the lead at all times unless otherwise told so by the instructor
- ALL dogs coming to and from the training area must be kept on a lead, we will not tolerate dogs being allowed to wander or being released loose from cars.
- Dogs should always be kept under control, failure to do this and therefore any injury caused by your dog is your responsibility
- If you are booked onto a group class please be respectful at keeping a safe distance from other dogs in the group at all times.
- All dogs mess must be cleaned up inside or outside the training arena, The front lawn/drive is NOT a dog toilet area please refrain from using it as such, try to ensure your dog has an adequate chance to go to the toilet before you come to class.
- Our indoor training barn is located on a livery yard, please be respectful of horses and their owners, you will not be allowed to wander around these premises for to your own safety, please use our designated dog toileting area (you will be shown this) and clear up after your dogs.
- ALL dogs mess must be taken home and disposed of we do not have the right to leave dogs mess on the yards muck heap.
- If your dog has been unwell please contact us before your session, we would generally advise not to bring your dog putting others at risk, however we would still advise coming and watching your class so you can then take away any information to work with your dog at home.
- All gates that are opened MUST BE CLOSED behind you.
- Our training methods are positive and force free we will not tolerate any form choke chains, if you feel your dog requires more than a simple lead or collar please contact before booking a group session.
- Your dogs progression in a class is down to you to being proactive and working on the training as advised by your instructor, it's a true saying the more you put into something the more you get out of it, dog training is just this, our training methods (require your commitment) (take commitment from yourself) to progress into long-term life changing results.
Demo Dogs:
At times we use one of our demo dogs in the sessions to aid training, it is your responsibility to keep your dog a safe distance away from the demo dog at all times, if your dog has been known to bite we will insist that they wear a muzzle for these sessions. Under no circumstances will your dog be allowed to interact with the demo dog, they are there to do their job and are not part of socializing play time for your dog, whilst everyone falls in love with our demo dogs please refrain from wanting to touch them while they are doing their job.
Biting:
All dogs that are known to bite other dogs or cause injury need to wear a muzzle, we take no responsibility for dogs who are not muzzled or kept under control, during our class or when working outside of a class. Failure to wear a muzzle when asked may result in you being asked to leave the class with no refund.
Bitches in season:
Unless prearranged for 121 sessions we unfortunately cannot have in-season bitches in any of the group classes, we do however strongly advise for you to attend the class without your dogs so you can continue your dogs education at home, please discuss with us beforehand if you are concerned. There will be no refund for bitches coming into season once your course/training has started.
Weather:
The K9 dog trainer will apply personal judgement and may cut short a class, if necessary, because of extreme weather conditions; including, but not limited to: excessive heat, torrential rain, thunder storms, snow and ice. This would be for the safety of everyone involved, other animals and members of the public. If the road conditions are too bad to access the venue safely a refund for that class is at the discretion of K9 dog training.
K9 dog training reserves the right to cancel the class (at any time & with immediate effect) if any dog/s in the class do not respond well to the plan and/or other dogs (where the continuing of the class is deemed, by K9 dog training, to constitute a risk).
Covid 19:
Please ensure if you or anyone in your household is displaying any symptoms or you have been told to self isolate please DO NOT come to any of your booked classes. If you unfortunately display symptoms or anyone in your household does after a class please could you contact K9 dog training so we can then contact relevant people who may have been in contact with you during your class. Lets all play our part in trying to reduce the risk. There is hand sanitizer upon entering the training area please use it upon entry.
