Puppy Classes

K9 Dog Training are delighted to offer you three types of puppy classes

Young puppy group classes

Our puppy class has a maximum of 8 puppies per class to keep it safe and controlled, giving a positive experience in a fully fenced outdoor arena or under-cover indoor barn winter classes will be in the barn. Each session will be an hour long with your puppy. There will usually be two instructors taking this class so we can give you all plenty of time and help.

Puppy classes are a great opportunity for your pups to learn to be calm, even with the distractions of other people and puppies around them, we train by allowing our pups to experience socializing skills in a controlled manner and being comfortable around other dogs.
If your looking for a puppy class that has a puppy style scrum or free for all play then please do not book, classes should be a positive experience for every puppy.

A basic guide to what this course will offer:

• How to build confidence - take your relationship to a new level with your puppy and how to focus a puppy on their owner
  
• Foundation behaviors and skills - to include, sit, down, stand & middle
  
• Recall a positive experience to a recall - building on recall with real life distractions
  
• The start of loose lead walking
  
• Basic food manners
  
• Puppies experiencing new surfaces & sounds
  
• Start of boundary training
  
• Start of toy play
  
• Time for questions and advice

This 4 week course of classes is suitable for puppies that have had their first vaccination until they are 7 months old. There will be an opportunity to book further class following on from this. If you have an older puppy that has had some basic training have a chat with us first, you could potentially join our progression or adult classes or alternatively book our 1-2-1 sessions.

Puppy 121's course
Our puppy 121's give you and your puppy our full attention for the ultimate start to your training.
We have lots of calls from overwhelmed first time puppy owners who, having brought a puppy home find its harder than expected, don't panic we are here to help! We also have plenty of owners who have already got older dogs but would prefer 121 classes to get more out of their sessions. You will cover everything in our standard group puppy classes with more time to dive deeper into particular areas your struggling with and expand those skills.
Like the group puppy class it's important that your puppy also learns to stay calm and focused around other dogs, therefore one of my own demo dogs will be part of this course. Each week you will get an email detailing what we covered in your session and some further tips and guidance. Puppy 121 course is a 6 week block course starting at £240.00 each session is 45 minutes long, you will be given the opportunity to then carry on into a 121 progression class or a group progression class. You can alternatively book some 121 session at £45 for 3/4 hour please keep in mind we would advise a minimum of 4 sessions.

we would strongly advise booking this 121 course if you would like to get your family members involved with your puppies training, you can all learn and have fun and enjoy this experience by having more time to go over things than a group puppy class.
Having children myself I can relate and advise how to raise a puppy in the dynamics of a family setting and incorporate the children into joining in with the training session, it will be a fun learning experience for them.
